It's all about change
The female form, body .............stop and have a think about that for a minute or two, it comes in all shapes and sizes and not to mention colours. What I am talking about here is that we are all different and not one person or woman is the same. We have to accept who we are and what we stand for. Thats what I love about photographing the female form and I don't mean to say that in a sexist or condescending way. This blurb is continuing on from my last editorial where I was writing about how different we are and how we must accept everyone for who they are and sometimes not for what they stand for. Pretty much accepting your self and others in what is sometimes a very in different world.
We see company's using plus size models to size 8 models that's OK you know why. It's because that company are targeting there demographic. Company's change all the time till they find the right formula, look at Victoria's Secret for example they only use size 8 models, and have said in the past, they tried using size 10 models but it didn't work for them and in turn lost sales. And that brings in the equation of money, yes that what it really boils down to are the models that the brand are using a good fit for there costumers??
So I would like to finish this little blurb of mine by pointing out to you, we do live in a superficial world. I am the first to admit that my images are photoshopped ( I think that is the first time I have said this over in the 4 and a half years of running LaMode magazine )but we also love to live in a world of fantasy don't we? We will open up a fashion magazine or log on to the internet mostly via our phones and look at imagery that will take us into another world for how ever long we decide to day dream and I am a big believer in day dreaming, because without our dreams where would we be?? There wouldn't be any change in our life and you wouldn't have any goals that you wanted to achieve, would we?? .........enjoy "It's All About Change"

It's All About the Art
I love black and white, no two ways about it. Just as much as I love photography, so for me to flip all the shots that I took of this shoot and turn them into black and white images, was very easy for me to do. In fact if I had a choice I would shoot in black and white must of the time. But in this commercial world most of my clients want to see colour, but who doesn't? So here you go "It's All About The Art"
Welcome back to LaMode Magazine. I know that I have been a little dormant of late, but I can say that I am back and here to stay. I have been busy shooting editorials for LaMode Magazine and you will see them in the coming weeks leading up to Chrismas.
If you live in Australia you will notice that the weather is warming up big time which means, good times at the beach. Here is my spin on good times at the beach, not only is being at the beach about being no holds barred, but being comfortable within your own skin and not caring about what other people think of you Right!!! So when I am casting models for shoots for LaMode magazine, that is what I am looking for, a model that is a little bit different not just a pretty girl. That someone who will stand out from the crown and get noticed, that is what I am looking for. I have to admit I don't always get the model that I want, but I would like to think that I come close. Not everyone tans well and not everyone is a size 8-10 with a killer body that is why I work with models who have unique features.
I worked with Giovanna from Bella Management for this editorial, she has curves and a x-factor that is second to none. Not to mention she is great to work with which always makes my job easier over the course of the shoot, which by the way was very quick. You see planning is the key and knowing what you want, rather than shoot and shoot and shoot and end up with 1000's of images that I won't use and won't look at is not only wasting my own time but everyone else's.
So the next time you are at the beach don't just make a impression make a Splash!!!!

LaMode is a global online magazine in a blog-style format, or what I would like to call a blogZine. With a focus on Fashion, Swimwear and Culture editorials. LaMode Magazine is not seasonal with its editorials because we like to shoot imagery that is on point to what we think will entertain you as the reader with our point of view.
