Lost Treasures Last week was supposed to be my last swim editorial for a while. But when the opportunity arose to shoot another editorial for LaMode I jumped at the chance. Never turn down a chance to shoot.......that is my first bit of advice to any young photographer. Yes all shoots cost money no matter how big or small they are but remember if this is your passion always take any opportunity you get to work on your style or technique that maybe worth while putting in your book. I was asked last week to add a few tips about fashion photography here on LaMode. But if you read some my earlier editorials I have thrown in a few tips here and there some directly and some in directly. Here's are a couple of tips for you to think about. Always work with the best people you can find and build a relationship with them so you can work with them over and over again. Because in fashion you are only as good as your team. Weak stylist weak photo's, if you have a substandard make-up artist the chances are your vision may not come through in the photo's and it goes on. When I first started out I would spend hours searching for the right make-up artist and hair stylist to work with not to mention the stylist it's self, because hey that's what fashion photography is all about right clothes well mostly anyway. The second tip I would like to put out there is the models that you use. Casting the best model to work in with your concept and idea is so important for your shoot. I know when you start out you may use a friend or a model from a agency that is just starting out but once you have shown the agency what you can do not only in the pictures that you produce but how you went about shooting it....... and yes the agency will call the model once everything is done and dusted to see how it all went( if you haven't worked with them before) and if you are unprofessional in any shape or form getting models the next time around will be very difficult if not impossible. So I would like to finish up with saying, once you have a strong concept you also need a really good team to help make it happen and also a amazing model who I always like to call the star of the show. Which is true no model no shoot right? Enjoy Lost Treasures..........Remember if it's your passion it's not work and stay true to your vision. Out of the WildernessWell after nearly 4 weeks of swim editorials I thought this was going to be the last one for a while. But after being on holiday for a week in the beautiful Jervis Bay, I decided to finish everything off with another swim editorial that I shot last week which you will see around about this time next week. Don't be to surprised if you see another swim editorial or brand profile at some stage in the next couple of months either. Never let a opportunity pass by that's what I say. I have so many exciting editorials in the pipe line so stay tuned to LaMode because the next 3 weeks I will be posting some very cool stuff. On a slightly different note, I haven't been writing a lot from my pass two editorials as I would prefer to let my images speak for it's self....... So not to hold you up any longer please enjoy what was supposed to be my last swim editorial for the month of November...........Out of the Wilderness Make-up and Hair-Tracy Terashima Model-Louisa@Chadwicks One piece-Born in Byron Bikini-Born in Byron One piece-Auqua Bikini-Born in Byron Bikini-Born in Bryon Bikini-Born in Byron Bikini-Gypsea Bikini-Gypsea
Curly CurlyWhen trying to find a beach in Sydney to shoot my third swim story for Novembers swim month. I stabled across the beach.....Curly Curly. Add the amazing Hannah to help create the story and the finished product is not only beautiful but also stunning. Curly Curly beach has everything you need, the golden sand, the rock pools, and not to mention a couple of life guards watching over the shoot. The amazing Hannah was wonderful to work with easing from one shot to the next. With stunning futures to work with what more could a photographer ask for? And what I asked for to what I got was one of the more striking editorials for the month of November.
