Double TakeThis weeks editorial is really a continuation from last weeks.......yes I know I said I would have the female form for you guy's to look at but it's not quite ready yet, so here's a little bit more Culture for your eyes to fest on.
Wolloomooloo is a part of Sydney what I call the high res but low area of my town. It has a bit of everything the Blue hotel which is not only a amazing place to stay but also holds one of the best cocktail bars in the area. Then you have pub's, restaurant's and throw in a couple of cool bars and you have the most odd part of town in Sydney. By the way Wolloomooloo means......Kangaroo, especially young kangaroo. So don't be surprised if you can jump from pub to bar to restaurant in the space of a few minutes if you have never visited Wollooomooloo the diversity of what you can see, eat and drink is no surprise to anyone one who has ready visited or lives in the area. The Long WalkFinally a original editorial I can throw up on LaMode Magazine. Last weeks one was a bit of a filler to get you through to this weeks editorial "The Long Walk"
Sydney is notorious for it's harbour and it's harbour bridge which you won't get to see much of in the following images. But what you will see is a blend of the old and new over the next 30 shots of this editorial. This town as changed so much over the last 10 years that I really can't stop to think how much it has changed with all the high raise buildings and all the new businesses that have come and gone as well. But what I like the most about this shoot is that it is a cross over of a architectural/culture shoot for LaMode were by I have captured some of the more modern buildings down by the harbour and blended them into some of the older ones. Match that with the late afternoon light and shooting it in bLack and white you have a art/photo journo feel to the shots. Don't worry next's weeks editorial will be back to the female form something everyone likes to check out but till then "The Long Walk" will take it's place. Static EgoI have been a little bit of out of touch lately with LaMode. So I hope this post will help catch up.........This story was shot about 4 years ago in one of my old apartments that I use to live in that had a basement and a pool. I was lucky enough to work with Chloe Norgaard a American model who has gone on to shoot for Vogue, Cover, WWD Japan, Nylon USA, and Forever 21 just to name a few. When it came to lighting this shoot I kept it simple and I did't try and complicate things and in this case I shot with a clip on flash to my camera and natural light. As you can see the results aren't to bad LOL .........I like to do a bit of retouching in photoshop but never like to over do it as I like my images to look natural and not over done. And yeah if you haven't already guessed I use filters as well. But I am not going to tell you which ones!!!!
I am in the process of shooting more stuff for LaMode but please be patient as this takes time especial when you are juggling paid work so in the mean time enjoy my Static Ego !!!!!! |
