I had the pleasure of being commissioned to shoot singer Juvhan over the last 3 to 4 years and every time I have shot her there is a little bit more magic that comes out of our shoots every time. This editorial was for her website that is soon to be launched. The shoot was very well planned and also very spontaneous at the same time as most of my shoots are as not all the shots you plan always go to plan. We tried to pull a darker side to her as you will see in the pic's below and as well as show a emotional one as well. It was a nice break away from shooting swim and fashion which I have done a lot of over the last 4 months.
I hope you like her video as she as she is one talent to look out for.
For this shoot I decide to break away from shooting colour and shoot most of this editorial in black and white. I love shooting in black and white as it gives the reader a different prospective of what the world would be like if you could wear glasses that could translate colour to black and white. Don't get me wrong I love shooting colour, but when I came up with the concept of this shoot I was really focusing on the rawness and shape and form of the model (Kirsty Macphail from Viviens) and using the surroundings to create a mood.
We are only half way through the Southern Hemisphere Summer and things are only just starting to heat up not only here at LaMode Magazine but weather wise as well. Stay tune to LaMode for more swim shoots.
