When shooting for LaMode magazine I have been very blissed to be able to shoot with some amazing swim brands. In this editorial "Natural Wonders" the main brand used was Jets. Jets is at the for front of the industry when it comes to swimwear and activewear. So to have the majority of the shoot styled with this brand, I was a little excited to say the least.
Moving forward shoot wise ......it doesn't get any better when you are working with a amazing team like the one I had for this editorial ........model, stylist and make-up artist. They all seem to gel like a tight fitting glove, which by the way is what you want on any shoot, not to mention one of my shoots LOL. Casting wise was a tad harder than normal. You only really want to work with models that really inspire you not that all the models that I had to chose from didn't get me excited. But the one that really stood out was Stephanie Taylor a little gem that came all the way from London to work in Australia for while. And my gut tells me that she will do more than alright here in Australia.
Light is this part of the world can sometimes get pretty hash during the day so when I hear that some photographers stop all together and have a break so they can work in the ideal conditions later in the day. I sometimes wonder why they would want to do that. I mean "me" having worked in all sorts of conditions myself. I try and adapt the best I can by making the light work for me and the final picture or pictures
I use reflectors and flash on location to obtain the feel that I am trying to capture while I am on set, I haven't used either and have kept photoshop to a minimum. So the point that I am making is that there are always "Natural Wonders" in this world.
